First was the was the very well attended and received seminar in Lagos titled “Wither Nigerian IP in the 21st Century” hosted by Intellectual Property Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association-Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) chaired by our Principal Partner and Group Head, Mr. Afam Nwokedi.
The ebullient NBA-SBL chairman, Mr. Olu Akpata informed attendees of the various expressions that the Section on Business Law would undertake under his tenure, while The Registrar of Trademarks, Patents and Designs took pains to explain the challenges, projections and expectations of industrial property practice in Nigeria in the near future. The highlight of the occasion was the presentation by the keynote speaker Dr. Kasim Musa Waziri, the immediate past Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Abuja, Nigeria, who thrilled the audience with his often controversial narration of the issues belabouring IP practice in Nigeria.
